In this video, we explore how to generate a preliminary commercial site layout using ChatGPT and bring it directly into Autodesk Civil 3D.

Watch as we prompt AI to create a concept plan for a ~6,000 sq ft medical/dental office, discuss the limitations of AI image generation vs. CAD data, and export the concept into a DXF file. From there, we import the DXF into Civil 3D, apply the project coordinate system, overlay Bing aerial imagery, and review the pre-structured CAD layers (building, setbacks, landscape buffers, parking, ADA, and stormwater) to kickstart our detailed design.
